In the subject line of your query, please type your manuscript name, your name and the target series. (Example: Book X by Jane Doe, Cosmo Red Hot Reads from Harlequin.) In the body of the email, please let us know the date it was submitted. It is also helpful if you email from the same email address you used to send your submission.
Harlequin authors should submit through their editor or Submit_HCosmo@Harlequin.com directly and indicate you are a Harlequin author. Please do tell us who your Harlequin editor is. Harlequin authors can submit a proposal.
Tips:
  • Use a professional email account; for example: Jane Doe, not Fluffy Bunny
  • It is helpful if your author name and email account name are similar
  • Please do not use your spouse’s email account
  • Select a readable font (not Courier)
  • Make sure your synopsis answers all the questions raised in your plot. If we read your synopsis will we understand why the heroine falls in love with the hero? It also needs to showcase your voice.

Short Stories - Erotica - Anthology

CALL FOR SUBMISSION:
www.MissTracee.com

EROTIC SHORT STORIES

Coming Together: Triumphantly is a collection of erotica that deals with reclaiming the body and sexuality after the trauma of illness or injury. This collection will benefit the National Women's Health Network.

We are seeking stories of triumph, of healing, and of appreciating the body and its abilities after (and in spite of) the changes brought about by illness/injury.

Attach submissions of up to 7,000 words to an email in RTF or DOC format and send to submissions @ the-erotic-cocktail.com with TRIUMPHANT SUBMISSION in the subject line. In the body of the email, include the story title, word count, your pen name, and a brief bio. Also, please indicate whether the submission has been previously published. Poetry will also be considered.

This collection will be edited by Dorla Moorehouse, who pitched the idea to Coming Together as follows:

In late 2010, my friend and fellow writer Reesa Brown and I decided we wanted to edit an erotica anthology based around reclaiming the body and sexuality after trauma, such as illness or assault. This idea was very important to Reesa, who was a breast cancer survivor. We mapped things out, found some interest from other writers we knew, and put together a call for submissions, but then Reesa's cancer returned. She spent most of 2011 fighting, and most of the time she was too ill to work. We planned to relaunch our efforts as soon as she was well, but unfortunately, that day never happened. After grieving her death in January, I've decided I want to continue along with the project as planned, even though she is no longer here to co-edit with me. While more than a year has passed since our initial plans, my motivation is stronger than ever.

Coming Together plans a Valentine's Day 2013 release for this anthology.

Thanks again! Your support helps a lot.

Cheers,
Dorla

Anthology Guidelines
General Information
Unless otherwise specified in the particular call, anthology submissions are subject to the following guidelines:
Submissions must be between 10,000 and 20,000 words. All submissions will be edited, but this is no excuse to send in a first draft. Stories should be as polished as possible before being submitted. Submissions must have either a core romantic plot or a reasonable amount of erotic content. Genre, pairing, and/or other restrictions may apply—read the anthology call closely before submitting!

All works submitted to Storm Moon Press must be unreleased works. We are only interested in acquiring exclusive first English language rights. This means if a work has been self-published, published by a subsidy press, on a website, journal, or other public forum, those rights have already been used and we cannot accept your submission.
Material that includes the following will be summarily rejected:
  • Pedophilia (sex involving one or more persons under the age of 18)
  • Necrophilia (sex with dead bodies—vampires, zombies, and the like don't count)
  • Bestiality (sex with non-sentient animals or shifters in full animal form)
  • Scat or golden showers (sex involving urine or feces play)
  • Gratuitous violence (including splatterpunk, slasher, and torture-porn)
  • Rape intended to arouse (though we will consider forced seduction or dubious consent if it is respectfully handled)
  • Snuff (sex during which one or more persons are killed)
Royalties and Contracts
As of June 1, 2012, unless otherwise specified in the particular call, our standard royalty and contract terms are as follows:
Initial contract length will be for exclusive print and electronic rights for three years. One year after the release of the anthology, each author's submission will additionally be made available for purchase separately in electronic formats.
Authors will receive a single payment of $75-$150 for their story based on length (i.e., $0.0075 per word). Royalties on individual e-book releases will be 50% of cover price on direct sales through Storm Moon Press' e-store, and 40% of cover price minus distribution costs for sales through third party vendors. All royalties will be paid quarterly.
Contributors will also be given 2 print copies of the anthology, one PDF copy of the anthology, and one PDF copy of their single release short story.

We also accept heterosexual romances, QUILTBAG literary fiction, and QUILTBAG young adult fiction through our imprints.
